MSU makes NCAA tickets available to students

EAST LANSING, Mich. - In an effort to make more NCAA basketball tournament tickets available to students should the Spartans advance, Michigan State University will provide 200 tickets in a student-only lottery for next week's Midwest Regional games at the Palace of Auburn Hills, President Peter McPherson announced today.

He said the lottery will be in addition to a previously announced lottery for student season ticket holders who want to attend the Final Four in Indianapolis April 1 and April 3.

On Wednesday, the university made available for purchase one hundred student-only tickets for Thursday and Saturday first-round games in Cleveland.

"The games in Cleveland and Auburn Hills bring a special demand for the tickets, in part because of proximity and in part because of the students' outstanding support of our team," McPherson said. "Student demand for first-round and regional games was never like this in past years.

"As a result, we are committed to securing more tickets for our students and are pleased to provide the additional 200 for Auburn Hills and the 100 for Cleveland. Our work to get more tickets continues."

Students must apply for the ticket lotteries by 6 p.m. Friday, March 17. Right now, a total of 500 student tickets are available for the Final Four, 200 for the regional.
