Board Chair Brianna Scott issues statement on results of no confidence vote

"I do not believe the hard work, dedication and reliable support of the majority of the Board is reflected in the results of the vote by the Academic Congress. I recognize that at times there have been instances that contribute to a negative impression of the Board, and as Chair I am commited to doing the work to reestablish trust with our university community.

"I am grateful for the partnership of my fellow trustees and their votes in support of a number of important achievements over the past couple years, including the adoption of more robust good governance standards, recognition of our talented faculty and students, the passage of responsible university budgets, the approval of critical and enhanced infrastructure projects, the celebration of historic support from our generous donors and the retention of President Guskiewicz.

"We look forward to working together, with President Guskiewicz, to keep up the positive momentum at Michigan State University."
