There's a new Zeke on campus.

Cindy Lou made her debut as Zeke V on April 18 during Michigan State University football's Spring Showcase at Spartan Stadium.

Cindy Lou is the first female Zeke. According to a social post when Zeke V was introduced, Cindy Lou trained alongside Zeke IV for seven years.

Zeke IV, also known as Buckshot, died earlier this year.

"This is something we have been working toward for quite some time, and we are so excited to finally share her with the Michigan State University community," the post stated.

Legacy of Zeke the Wonderdog

For decades, Zeke the Wonderdog has been charging across Spartan Stadium bringing fans to their feet for a frisbee-catching halftime show.

The first Zeke was a yellow Labrador named Ezekiel. After finishing second at the 1977 national disc-catching championships in Pasadena, California, the MSU Athletic Department invited Zeke and his owner, MSU student Gary Eisenberg, to perform at a Spartan football game.

One incredible catch later, a Spartan tradition was born. Read more about Zeke on MSUToday.
