Selection Sunday isn’t a surprise in East Lansing. It’s a standard.
Michigan State University has appeared in 28-straight NCAA men’s basketball tournaments, the longest active streak in the nation. Nicknamed “Mr. March,” Head Coach Tom Izzo is also the all-time winningest men’s basketball coach in Big Ten Conference history.
To say Spartans love Michigan State basketball is an understatement. Year after year, they show up — from the stands of the Breslin Center to living rooms around the world — for their team and for each other. In fact, Spartans were recently named the most passionate fanbase in college basketball.
This connection to basketball runs deep, spanning generations who proudly wear green and white. And it exists because Izzo and his teams reflect the spirit of every Spartan: fearless, resilient and built to meet the moment. It’s who we are.
East Lansing in March is more than brackets and banners. It’s where our legacy is rooted in the belief that Spartans can, do and will — together.
