From March Madness to College of Music concerts, MSU offers many things to do as the weather starts to get warmer.

Tuesday, March 17

• Symphony Band- Davis Thorton conducts the MSU Symphony Band at the Wharton Center.
• MSU Presidential Speaker Series: The Role of Higher Education in Civil Discourse- Inaugural event focused on "the Future of Higher Education."

Wednesday, March 18

• Financial Resource Fair- Learn more about budgeting, loans, savings and credit challenges through interactive stations while learning more about free resources on campus at the library.
• Learning from Noctalgia: The art and science of darkness at MSU- See a new experimental show designed by artist Jan Tichy at the Abrams Planetarium.

Thursday, March 19

• Third Thursday crafting meetup- Visit the Makerspace to take a break and make crafts from knitting, collaging, perler beads and more.
• Wind Symphony- World premiere of MSU composer Zhou Tian’s Concerto for Alto Saxophone as well as other pieces.
• AI, Elections, and the Fight for Facts- This conversation brings together experts in technology, media, and politics to explore how AI is reshaping propaganda, amplifying polarization, and challenging democratic resilience.
  

Friday, March 20

• “Blurred Realities,” Contemporary Compositions- Experience a 30-minute live concert inspired by Blurred Realities at the MSU Museum.
• UABaseball: Opener Extravaganza- Join UAB to celebrate the first home baseball game of the season at Jeff Ishbia Field at McLane Stadium.
• Broad underground: Muraliwala 1927- Watch the silent film Muraliwala with live musical accompaniment at the International Center.
• Symphony Orchestras Honors Concert- Celebrate the rising stars of the College of Music as winners of the annual Honors Concerto Competition take the stage with the MSU Symphony Orchestra at the Wharton Center.

• Baker Woodlot workday- Join Carolyn Miller and help beautify and treat the Baker Woodlot for invasive plants.
