Spartans trek past the statue of John Hannah on a chilly winter evening. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

The Resilient Oak stands tall on campus as it welcomes a new year. Nearly 400 years old, the Resilient Oak is a story of endurance and survival, continuing to endure season after season after much of its trunk and branches were destroyed during a storm in 2016. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

Each December, the MSU Horticulture Gardens feature a poinsettia tree with a unique design. This year’s tree featured a swirl of houseplants, many of which were grown throughout the year by students in HRT 222: Houseplants and Interiorscapes. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

Beaumont Tower shone a little brighter than usual this winter season thanks to a new tradition to illuminate the campus beacon with festive lights. Photo by Nick Schrader.

In addition to the tower’s glow, glimmering tree lights illuminate Beaumont Tower’s plaza. Photo by Nick Schrader.

Though winter evenings can seem dreary, a network of lights glows gently throughout campus to help Spartans find their way. Photo by Garret Morgan.
