The 2025 Undergraduate Exhibition presented by the Department of Art, Art History, and Design at Michigan State University features the work on 41 students created in AAHD courses during the past year. This juried exhibition runs through Thursday, April 24, at (SCENE) Metrospace, 110 Charles Street, East Lansing, Michigan. Gallery hours are noon-5 p.m. Thursday-Sunday. An exhibition reception is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 11, during which the Best of Show and Honorable Mention awards will be presented at 6:30 p.m.

These students continue a long history preceded by thousands of alumni who have shown in past Undergraduate Exhibitions at MSU. Centered in a learning environment that values the development of personal vision, critical inquiry, and philosophical reflection, undergraduate students across all disciplines make intellectual and artistic discoveries.

This year’s student work was critiqued by guest juror Jennifer Angus, Professor in the Design Studies Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she teaches textile design. She also is a visual artist who works solely in the area of site-specific installation. Her primary materials are insects, dead and dried specimens that are reused from project to project. She pins them to walls in ornamental patterns, reminiscent of textiles or wallpaper, and arranges them in poses under glass domes or in cabinet drawers. She is described by Art Daily as “one of the top contemporary installation artists in the country.”
