12 MSU graduates receive MSU Board of Trustees’ Award for academic excellence

Twelve graduates from this past summer accomplished an enviable feat throughout their time at Michigan State University — earning a perfect GPA.

During its Oct. 31 meeting, the MSU Board of Trustees presented these graduating seniors with the Board of Trustees Award, which recognizes and honors their achievement of the highest scholastic average one can receive: a 4.0 GPA.

In addition to the award, the students will also be recognized during their individual commencement ceremonies in December and receive a special cord to adorn their robes.

The students honored for this achievement include:

  • Abigail J. Atkinson, who earned a bachelor’s in kinesiology from the College of Education and is from Laingsburg, Michigan.

  • Zachary E. Balcoff, who earned a bachelor’s in journalism from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, is a member of the Honors College from Troy, Michigan.

  • Annie Campbell, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from the College of Natural Science, is a member of the Honors College from Plymouth, Michigan.

  • Benjamin M. Horaney, who earned a bachelor’s in accounting from the Eli Broad College of Business, is a member of the Honors College from Brighton, Michigan.

  • Anika Kulkarni, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from Lyman Briggs College and is from Canton, Michigan.

  • Brooke A. Lattner, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from Lyman Briggs College, is a member of the Honors College from Clarkston, Michigan.

  • Kayla A. Mizell, who earned a bachelor’s in zoology from Lyman Briggs College, and is from Sanford, Michigan.

  • Taylor A. Mosier, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from Lyman Briggs College and is from Lake Orion, Michigan.

  • Margaret A. Roney, who earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the College of Social Science, is a member of the Honors College from Commerce Township, Michigan.

  • Brandon M. Sims, who earned a bachelor’s in management from the Eli Broad College of Business and is from Commerce Township, Michigan.

  • Skylar G. Swartz, who earned a bachelor’s in communication leadership and strategy from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences and is from Richmond, Michigan.

  • Kera D. Thompson, who earned a bachelor’s in environmental studies and sustainability from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and is from Holt, Michigan.
