The 8th Annual Diversity Research Showcase is hosted by the Honors College and open to all students. Held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Jan. 24 at the MSU Union and online, it features MSU undergraduate student work, or work in progress, on issues of diversity that advance inclusion.
The Diversity Research Showcase provides undergraduates students space to discuss their diversity research with peers, faculty and staff in a supportive and constructive atmosphere. Topics span cultural, racial, ethnic, functional, gender, international, LGBTQIA2S+ and political diversity.
This year’s showcase features nearly 60 students across 12 of MSU’s degree-granting colleges. It's free to attend and open to the public.
"I chose to participate in the DRS because the values of diversity, equity and inclusion have historically not been celebrated by mainstream media," said Allison Doneth, third-year neuroscience student in the Honors College and Lyman Briggs College. "To see Michigan State hosting an event like this, especially the Honors College, gives me hope for the future of research."
Student presentations are evaluated by MSU faculty or staff judges. Monetary prizes are awarded to top presenters in the oral and poster categories.
