The MSU Twin Registry and the Detroit Pistons are partnering for the second annual Twin Day on Sunday, Nov. 10 at Little Caesars Arena.
Twin Day celebrates twin brothers Ausar and Amen Thompson, who became the first siblings (and twins!) to be selected top 10 in the same NBA draft. Ausar was selected with the fifth overall pick by Detroit, while Amen was selected by the Houston Rockets with the fourth overall pick.
The Pistons are offering a Twin Day ticket offer that includes a ticket to the matchup against the Houston Rockets on Nov. 10, a giveaway item, and access to a postgame twin experience. In addition, a portion of each ticket sold will be donated to the MSU Twin Registry.
The MSU Twin Registry is housed in the Department of Psychology at Michigan State University. The registry is made up of over 30,000 sets of twins and their families, from throughout Michigan and surrounding states, who have shown an interest in research and have participated in a twin study.
“This event helps celebrate the invaluable contributions that twins and their families have made to research. Because of them, there have been discoveries that significantly impact individual and public health,” said Kelly Klump, MSU Research Foundation Professor of psychology and co-director of the MSU Twin Registry.
