UHW health, fitness and well-being opportunities this spring

As spring approaches, University Health and Wellbeing is offering a variety of health, fitness, and wellness opportunities for MSU students and employees, and members of the community.

  • UHW SPARTANfit Comprehensive Fitness Assessment & Functional Movement Screening Promo, March

    MSU students gearing up for the Izzo Legacy 5K or looking to kickstart or enhance their fitness and wellness, can get a fitness assessment and functional movement screening at a discounted rate of 50 percent off during March. SPARTANfit’s Comprehensive Fitness Assessment and Functional Movement Screening 5K provide baseline measurements for overall fitness and functionality to assist individuals in achieving their physical activity and wellness goals.

    Students/Student Spouse: Initial Assessment: $20 to $10; Students/Student Spouse: Screening: $20 to $10. For more information or to schedule an assessment or screening, email SPARTANfit at SPARTANfit@msu.edu.


  • UHW SPARTANfit Train Your Way to a 5K, March 18

    UHW’s SPARTANfit Fitness and Wellness Program has intentionally timed to offer Train Your Way to a 5K to help individuals participate in upcoming fundraiser runs and walks, including the April 20 Izzo Legacy Run/Walk/Roll and the April 14 Out of the Darkness Campus Walk. The free 5-week run/walk/roll training program for MSU students, faculty, staff, and community members will begin March 18. The program will offer weekly workouts, tips, and motivation sent via email by a SPARTANfit certified health & wellbeing coach. Sign up here.

  • UHW/CIM Health Fair, MSU Union, March 25, 1-4 p.m.

    UHW, in collaboration with the Community Integrated Medicine club, will hold a free health fair on March 25 at the MSU Union Ballroom. CIM, comprising medical students training to become physicians, will be offering free health screenings. UHW will set up a fitness station to provide mini fitness assessments. Nutrition and preventative health information will be available.
