About InsideMSU

InsideMSU is the official source for staff and faculty news at Michigan State University. The newsletter is a part of the Media and Public Information section in University Communications. Published Tuesdays and Thursdays during the academic year, InsideMSU features news, information and events from around campus for MSU’s 20,000 employees.

How to get your content in InsideMSU
InsideMSU features a mix of both original and curated content. While we actively search for stories and happenings from throughout the MSU ecosystem, requests for promotion and amplification of your content are always welcome.

Submitting news and events
In general, content is picked up from our communications partners throughout MSU. InsideMSU will run a headline, teaser copy, a link to the original story and possibly a picture, which are edited based on our editorial requirements. Send requests to InsideMSU@msu.com with the basic information and a link to where the article or event is published. A week’s notice is appreciated, but submissions can be accepted up to the day before the publication of a particular issue.

How about Just Ask Addy, Pop Quiz, MSU in Focus?
While these are planned features, suggestions are welcome.

Submitting Spartan Spotlights
InsideMSU is always looking for articles about exceptional employees that can be used as Spartan Spotlights, which honor the work of faculty and staff across the university. Send requests to InsideMSU@msu.com with the basic information and a link to where the original article is published.

Submitting to the In Memoriam section
Obituaries for Spartan employees, active or retired, that are published by university units, departments or colleges may be run in InsideMSU at Spartan Tributes when we are made aware of them. The shorter death notices run as Also Remembered are not available for submission. These are provided by Human Resources to InsideMSU as they are made available and confirmed by staff.
