Though Beaumont Tower rings out regularly each day throughout the year, every summer it changes its tune on Wednesday nights. As part of the Muelder Summer Carillon Concert Series, carillonists from around the world perform a wide variety of music on Beaumont Tower’s iconic bells. Concerts start at 6 p.m. and are free and open to the public, with tours of the tower and demonstrations of the carillon offered after each performance. Photo by Nick Schrader.
Though the Communication Arts and Sciences Building may appear to be a standard academic building on first glance, it contains a treasure trove of resources for Spartans interested in journalism, broadcasting, video games, advertising, communication sciences and more, with numerous labs and centers that offer real-world hands-on experiences in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. Fresh greenery and planters are added to the memorial benches honoring the memory of students Arielle Anderson, Brian Fraser and Alexandria Verner near Berkey Hall. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
A hidden gem on campus, the MSU Observatory and its summertime public observing nights allow visitors to stargaze and view celestial bodies on a whole new level with the facility’s 24-inch telescope while also providing an opportunity to engage with local astronomers and the MSU community. While summer rains have been pouring down in full force this week, The Spartan never wavers in his duty, watching over campus with a reassuring gaze. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
The sight of the Spartan helmet at Spartan Stadium is a reminder of the excitement of autumn game days to come. Photo by Nick Schrader.
