Women’s soccer knocks off Penn State, registers best start in program history

A third-minute goal from graduate midfielder Justina Gaynor proved to be enough as fifth-ranked Michigan State women's soccer took down No. 9 Penn State, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Penn State's Jeffrey Field.

MSU moves to 8-0-2 (3-0 B1G) with the win, while Penn State drops to 8-2-1 (2-1 B1G). The Spartans' 10-match unbeaten streak to begin the season is MSU's best start in program history, topping its previous best of nine matches (1986, 2009).
