InsideMSU is pleased to announce a new communications opportunity for the MSU community, the Spartan Service Announcement (SSA). These MSU-specific public service announcements allow Spartans to inform and engage the campus community on various important topics. They are featured in InsideMSU, the official staff and faculty newsletter, and can cover a wide range of subjects, including health and safety updates, university events, policy changes and community initiatives.

Key Features

1. Free of charge: There is no cost for running SSAs in InsideMSU, ensuring that vital information reaches the university community without financial barriers.
2. Wide Reach: Currently distributed through InsideMSU, SSAs have a broad audience, including faculty, staff and administrators, enhancing the visibility of important messages.
3. Timely Information: SSAs provide timely updates and announcements that are crucial for maintaining an informed and engaged campus environment.

With SSAs, University Communications provides MSU with another option for the effective communication of essential information to its employees, in the furtherance of our mission to foster a well-informed and cohesive community.

How to submit an SSA for publication

Eligibility: Only fully designed SSAs from official MSU colleges, departments, units, and offices are accepted. The purpose must be relevant to employees.

Content Requirements:

• Must be relevant to MSU employees and pertain to university-related events, announcements or initiatives.
• Should adhere to MSU branding guidelines (including logos, colors, and fonts).

Design Specifications:

• Size: Between 700x100 pixels and 800x100 pixels.
• Format: PNG or JPEG.
• Resolution: Minimum 72 dpi for clarity.

Submission Process:

• Submit a request to InsideMSU.
• Include a brief description of the ad's purpose, including the intended text and images, and desired timing. 
• Once approved, you can submit the final SSA for publication.

Approval:

• All submissions will be reviewed for appropriateness, relevance and adherence to guidelines.
• The InsideMSU editorial team reserves the right to reject or request modifications to any banner ad.

Placement:

• There is currently one location above the masthead. Timing is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Deadline:

• Submit the banner ad at least one week prior to the desired publication date.
