Whether they’re tackling the world’s greatest problems or studying for final exams, Spartans work better together. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Potential Spartans got a taste of student life at Admitted Students Day on April 6. The event welcomed admitted students and families to campus to explore academic and campus resources, and presented an opportunity to connect with other incoming students. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Admitted Students Day notably kicked off with a welcome event at the Breslin Center, where students and families enjoyed performances from the Spartan Marching Band and MSU Spirit Squad cheer and dance team, as well as appearances from President Kevin Guskiewicz, the Office of Admissions and, of course, Sparty. Though bare branches will slowly be replaced by green leaves and vibrant hues, the majesty of Beaumont Tower is unparalleled, regardless of the season. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

The orange wings of a Julia butterfly are beautifully complemented by the blue and pink walls of the Michigan 4-H Children's Gardens’ indoor butterfly garden. The Children’s Gardens are a unique collection of themed gardens that help promote an understanding of plants and their role in daily life, while fostering a sense of wonder and imagination in children of all ages. The gardens are free to visit from sunup to sundown every day through October 31, and the indoor garden is open to the public on weekends April 13–28. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
