'Beneath the pines we'll gather'

By: Kelsie Lane, Jennifer Trenkamp

The Michigan State University community came together to honor those we lost and those who were affected by the tragedy that occurred on our campus one year ago — Feb. 13, 2023. Along with Spartans around the world, unified by a will that connects us, we continue to remember and support one another.

Members of the MSU community gathered at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center and the International Center on campus to create notes of support and gifts at “Healing through Kindness and Service.” To help the East Lansing and MSU communities heal and come together, participants in the event at the Hannah Center packed supply kits for local schools and youth-serving organizations, and decorated brown paper bags for the organization Kids’ Food Basket.
