In celebration and commemoration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., MSU’s campus community comes together each year with a wide range of events and activities. This year’s commemorative celebration examines and honors King’s courageous leadership and unwavering commitment to civil rights, equality and social justice, encouraging Spartans to reflect, learn and start dialogues through the lens of King’s impact — not only on our country, but on Michigan State University.
Sampson Davis, George Jenkins and Rameck Hunt served as keynote speakers for the 2024 MLK Student Leadership Conference. Known as “The Three Doctors,” the trio shared stories of struggles and success as they sought to achieve their dreams while battling inequality. Hosted by the MSU Zeta Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the 2024 MLK Student Committee within the 2024 MLK Commemorative Committee, the MLK Commemorative March invites the MSU community to come together to honor King’s legacy. Due to freezing temperatures, this year’s march looked a little different than that of years past.
