Honoring those who serve our country, students from Michigan State University’s U.S. Air Force and Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps hosted a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 9, ahead of the holiday. Starting at the MSU Alumni Memorial Chapel and ending with a Ceremony of Retreat in Hannah Plaza, Air Force and Army ROTC members were joined by veterans, members of the military and the MSU community to remember the veterans and active members who put service above self. Symbolizing the MSU community’s commitment to combating sexual assault and supporting survivors, students were invited to add their handprint to a banner as part of It’s On Us Week of Action. It’s On Us is an initiative started in 2014 by the administration of former President Barack Obama. Each year, a “week of action” is held in both the fall and spring, inviting students and university units to participate in events that encourage taking a stand against sexual violence.
