16 MSU graduates receive Board of Trustees’ Award for academic excellence

Sixteen Michigan State graduates accomplished what many aspire to achieve – a perfect GPA.

During its Oct. 27 meeting, the MSU Board of Trustees presented a record-breaking number of graduating seniors with the Board of Trustees’ Award, recognizing their achievement of the highest scholastic average one can receive, a 4.0 GPA.

In addition to being recognized by the Board of Trustees, students also will be acknowledged during their individual commencement ceremonies in December and will receive $1,000 from the university for their accomplishments.

The students who received recognition are:

  • Ryan G. Chaben, who earned a bachelor's in professional and public writing from the College of Arts and Letters is from Shelby Township, Michigan and attended Stoney Creek High School.
  • Nicholas G. Heelan, who earned a bachelor’s in biochemistry and molecular biology and biotechnology from the College of Natural Science and is a member of the Honors College. Heelan is from Fennville, Michigan and attended Saugatuck High School. 
  • Monique C. Karoub, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from the College of Natural Science. Karoub is from Farmington Hills, Michigan and attended Detroit Country Day School. 
  • Wyatt D. Keith, who earned a bachelor’s in criminal justice from the College of Social Science. Keith is from Michigan Center, Michigan and attended Michigan Center High School. 
  • David O. Kleinsorge, who earned a bachelor’s in management from the Eli Broad College of Business. Kleinsorge is from Ann Arbor, Michigan and attended Home School High School.
  • Jack K. Koczara, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from the College of Natural Science and is a member of the Honors College. Koczara is from Allendale, Michigan and attended Coopersville High School. 
  • Kayleigh S. Manchester, who earned a bachelor’s in games and interactive media from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences and is a member of the Honors College. Manchester is from Ann Arbor, Michigan and attended Huron High School. 
  • Sadie Mrakuzic, who earned a bachelor’s in public policy from the College of Social Science and is a member of the Honors College. Mrakuzic is from East Lansing, Michigan and attended Hudson High School.
  • Caolinn E. O’Keefe, who earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the College of Social Science. O’Keefe is from Birmingham, Michigan and attended Seaholm High School.
  • Bailey A. Padgett, who earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the College of Social Science and is a member of the Honors College. Padgett is from Saint Johns, Michigan and attended Saint Johns High School. 
  • Peter J. Pawlowski, who earned a bachelor’s in accounting from the Eli Broad College of Business. Pawlowski is from Troy, Michigan and attended Troy High School. 
  • Anlyn Poon, who earned a bachelor’s in political science-prelaw from the College of Social Science. Poon is from Honolulu, Hawaii and attended Henry J Kaiser High School. 
  • Natalynn T. Qaji, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from the College of Natural Science. Qaji is from West Bloomfield, Michigan and attended Mercy High School.
  • Victoria Rumin, who earned a bachelor’s in human biology from the College of Natural Science. Rumin is from Shelby Township, Michigan and attended Utica High School.
  • Ethan G. Wright, who earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the College of Social Science. Wright is from Ann Arbor, Michigan and attended Skyline High School. 
  • Samantha E. Yono, who earned a bachelor’s in advertising creative from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. Yono is from Canton, Michigan and attended Canton High School.
