The golden clock face of Beaumont Tower shimmers as the sun peaks overhead. As splendid in sound as it is in beauty, Beaumont Tower’s chimes can be heard ringing throughout the summer in the annual Summer Carillon Series, held on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Each week, carillon masters from across the globe bring unique arrangements to Beaumont Tower, including Dina Verheyden and Richard de Waardt on July 5. Intergenerational memories were made last week at Grandparents University, an annual event that welcomes young Spartans ages 8-13 and their grandparents, inviting them to stay on campus and participate in unique experiences together at MSU. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Participants in Grandparents University hit the greens for a round of mini-golf near Holmes Hall. The three-day long event is attended by more than 1,000 participants each year, with nearly 200 classes offered by colleges and units to choose from.
