U.S. News & World Report recognizes MSU online graduate programs with top rankings

In its 2022 ranking for online graduate programs, U.S. News & World Report ranked three of Michigan State University’s participating programs in the top 25 and four specific disciplinary areas in the top 10.

The Eli Broad College of Business’ online non-MBA graduate program in business jumped nine places to No. 12 — its highest placement for online rankings to date. The program also achieved its highest placement for business programs for veterans, with a ranking of No. 3, and is ranked No. 7 among U.S. public universities.

“Providing opportunities to professionals who want to upskill and enhance their career potential is an important societal responsibility that universities like Michigan State are best positioned to do,” said Sanjay Gupta, dean of the Eli Broad College of Business. “At the Broad College, we are committed to ensuring we not only provide such opportunities but also do so in a high-quality manner. To be ranked within the top 10 of U.S. public universities is very meaningful in delivering on this commitment.”

For the second straight year, the College of Social Science’s online master’s program in criminal justice is ranked No. 5 in the nation. The program has consistently been in the top 10 since 2017. The program also maintained its No. 3 ranking for veterans.

“We are thrilled to see the School of Criminal Justice's online master's programs continue to be recognized nationally for their excellence in a very competitive space,” said Mary Finn, dean of the College of Social Science. “The school’s online degree programs reflect the commitment of our faculty and staff who have developed them into the remarkable successes they are today. Students enroll in programs that offer the requisite knowledge and competencies to be successful in justice careers. Together, we are proud of the work they have done and continue to do to make these programs one of the country's best.”

MSU’s College of Education is ranked No. 24 overall for online master's programs in education. The college placed in the top 10 in the four specific disciplinary areas identified by U.S. News & World Report:
