While cloud-gazing in search of interesting shapes and images is a bit tricky on overcast days, branch-gazing can lead to just as many discoveries — like the shape of a heart spotted near Baker Hall. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Students had the opportunity to take a break from studying at the MSU Library, designing laser-cut trinkets during a special finals week event. Participants were able to use a variety of shapes to assemble jewelry, keychains and zipper pulls with unique designs. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Though there were a variety of shapes to choose from, the Spartan helmet will always be our top pick. The event was held in the Hollander MakeCentral Makerspace, which, in addition to hosting workshops, is a hub for hands-on learning and experimentation with a number of unique tools — like the laser cutter — available for use. As classes give way to final exams, campus life moves at a different pace. Students, though final exams can sometimes feel like an individual battle, know that the entire MSU community is cheering you on and wishing you all the best. In fact, family, friends and fellow alums who would like to honor students graduating Dec. 16 and 17 can submit personalized messages to be displayed on stage prior to the ceremonies. Supporters can submit their well wishes online starting today through graduation day Photo by Nick Schrader.
