When winter blues turn much of our “green campus” into a forest of gray and brown branches, it’s time to gather beneath the pines and appreciate a bit of verdant beauty, like that of the stunning green needles on a tree outside Mason-Abbot Hall. Photo by Nick Schrader.
Historical architecture meets contemporary as the spire atop Linton Hall is joined in the skyline by new buildings along Grand River Ave. As one of the oldest buildings on campus, built in 1881, Linton Hall is more than a classic collegiate building — it’s a piece of MSU history. “Victoria”, a sculpture by artist Curtis Pittman, stands elegantly silhouetted at sunset outside the Jack Breslin Student Events Center. The sculpture is designed to be a symbol of the “flame to academia”, and was inspired by Spartan iconography like plumes, shields and spears. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
The grand staircase in the Broad College of Business’s Minskoff Pavilion provides a perfect meeting place for both study and socialization. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
