Spring has truly sprung on campus, with something new growing everywhere you look. Photo by Lisa Mulcrone.
Friends and members of the Vlahakis family gathered to dedicate a bench in the family’s honor and in memory of Angelos Vlahakis, an alumnus, educator and mentor in the School of Hospitality Business. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
It certainly seems to be the season for bench dedications, as an Infrasturcture, Planning and Facilities crewmember installs a bench in honor of Professor Emeritus John C. Howell, assistant provost of health programs, associate dean of Human Medicine and associate dean of Social Science. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Tim Potter, sustainable transportation manager and expert on cycling on campus, poses for a quick photo while on the move. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Crabapples hang like delicate beads off a tree near Hannah Administration Building. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
The statue of John Hannah depicts him striding forward, fitting of a former MSU president widely regarded as forward-thinking and dedicated to advancing MSU’s mission. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
A Landscape Services crewmember adds mulch to the base of a campus tree. As we admire spring flowers and foliage, it’s important to remember all the work that goes into keeping campus looking its best! Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
The blue accents of “Emergence," a mural located on the south side of Kresge Art Center, perfectly complement the clear blue sky above. “Emergence" was created in 2019 by students in Public Art, Understanding, and Practice – a course in the Department of Art, Art History and Design. When creating the mural, students sought out inspiration on a weeklong trip to view public art in New York City, then returned to campus to collaborate on the final piece. Photo by Lisa Mulcrone.
Roller-skating along the Red Cedar is the perfect way to enjoy a warm day on campus. Luckily, those days are becoming less and less of a rarity! Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
April showers sometimes make for dreary campus days, but some Spartans brighten the mood with fashionable umbrellas. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
