Spartans enter national rankings

Michigan State women's soccer won in shutout fashion, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon against Indiana, picking up their first conference-opening win since 2015. The Spartans scored early and kept up a strong defense in the second half to hold Indiana to just five shots on goal and no goals scored. With the win, goalkeeper Lauren Kozal picked up her fifth shutout of the season.

The Green and White stay undefeated with a 6-0-2 mark, wrapping up the non-conference portion of the season with four shutout victories and kicking off Big Ten play with a blanking of the Hoosiers. Over eight games the Spartans have allowed just three goals to score from opponents, dominating with 16 goals of their own scored.
