After a nail-biting first half, the team overtook Michigan in a dramatic victory. So many frame-worthy photos from the game, and this one tops the list! Photo by Danielle Fenton.
The weekend was full of festivities beyond Spartan Stadium. Brynn Delaney participates in a community craft on Halloween day at the MSU Broad Art Museum. Both the museum and the MSU Bug House celebrated all things creepy and crawly for a spooktacular afternoon. The free spider-themed ArachnoBroadia! included button-making, a community web weave and designing arachnid habitats. Photo by Beth Brauer.
Home to James Madison College, Case Hall sports its finest fall foliage. JMC is one of three residential college communities at Michigan State. The residential colleges at MSU offer the best of both worlds: the finest qualities of small liberal arts colleges combined with the energy and resources of a large research university. Head football coach Mel Tucker never lets the Spartans down. With our rival defeated, Tucker’s next big job is facing Purdue on their home turf in Indiana on Saturday, Nov. 6. Photo courtesy of MSU Athletic Communications.
The stars aligned for the Michigan State versus Michigan football game this Saturday, with both teams going head-to-head undefeated so far this season. Photo courtesy of MSU Athletic Communications.
The key to costume wearing is to step out with confidence. Dressed as a flower for Halloween, this Spartan dawg is turning heads for all the right reasons. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
MSU Alumnus Cung Dao braves the chilly waters of the Red Cedar River, kayaking on an autumn day. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Burnt orange leaves frame two people passing by the MSU Technology Store. The Tech Store is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
The Green Space Initiative keeps things fresh for fall, updating the “green walls” along the MSU Library Bridge with colorful mums to complement the season. The initiative was conceived by MSU student organization Sustainable Spartans, who focus on creating sustainability projects that help to educate and inspire the campus community. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
The Spartan football team celebrates a hard-earned victory and the return of the legendary Paul Bunyan trophy. The trophy was presented to Michigan State after their win against Michigan by Governor G. Mennen Williams in 1953 and, in every Michigan State–Michigan game since, it has been awarded to the victor. It won’t be long before the Red Cedar is frozen, and the trees are covered with snow and ice. Until then, we’ll continue to marvel at the brilliant golden hues. Photo by Tom Volkening.
Members of MSU Air Force and Army ROTC show that teamwork is an essential part of both civilian and enlisted life, holding a friendly tug-of-war competition. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
