A cloud-streaked sunrise provides a painterly backdrop to contrast the bold lines of 1855 Place. 1855 Place functions as a multi-use hub in the Brody neighborhood, providing student housing, dining and shopping options, and offices. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
While Spartans did their best to stay out of the rain this week, plants in the W.J. Beal Botanical Garden happily took in some extra hydration. Change is on the horizon for the garden — and not just the coming of autumn — as director Frank Telewski retires after 29 years at the post. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
The MSU Broad Museum’s angles peek through sunlight-dappled leaves, creating a perfect combination of organic and refined beauty. If you’re looking for a fun event at which to hone your drawing skills, the museum is hosting its annual Drawing Marathon on Thursday, Sept. 30. The all-day event will feature drawing stations, costumed models and drawing prompts to help you draw out some inspiration. Photo by Nick Schrader.
Dark skies just before sunrise at Cook Hall gives the historic building a mysterious vibe. Is it too early to get excited for Halloween? Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Autumn has come so quickly the leaves are changing before our eyes. Take some time to enjoy the fall colors while they’re here, Spartans. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

Lively musicians bring a touch of art deco style to the façade of the Music Building. This limestone relief, created by artist Samuel Cashwan in the 1930s, is part of a series of reliefs and sculptures on campus intended by Cashwan to bring more art into people’s lives. Photo by Nick Schrader.
Students pass by Kellogg Conference Center on a rainy day. It’s important to dress for the weather. Even our four-legged friend agrees. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
A campus squirrel carries a snack across the sidewalk. Hibernation takes meal-prep to a whole new level! Photo by Nick Schrader.
As evening falls over another successful day at Spartan Stadium, we couldn’t be more excited for the next game. On Oct. 2, the Spartans will face Western Kentucky in a homecoming game that’s sure to be the highlight of a pride-filled weekend. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
