One person’s surplus is another person’s treasure. The MSU Surplus Store collects unwanted items from the MSU community and makes them available to the public, keeping usable products out of landfills. The Surplus Store has reopened for in-store purchases on Fridays, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Photo by Nick Schrader.
Though it may look imposing, “Scrap Metal Sparty” is environmentally friendly, consisting entirely of recycled materials. The sculpture, which currently resides outside of the MSU Surplus Store and Recycling Center, was created by artist Tom Sheerin in 2011. Photo by Nick Schrader.
