There’s plenty of green space to be had for those wanting to study outside the library. The library continues to offer its services over the summer, offering the MSU community access to millions of physical and virtual materials. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
On a scorching hot day, we’re grateful the W.J. Beal Botanical Garden has a dedicated team keeping the plants hydrated. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

Anyone familiar with Beaumont Tower can see why it commands attention and respect. And, of course, we know it is more than a pretty face. The 24th Annual Muelder Summer Carillon Series will showcase Beaumont Tower’s impressive bells, offering a concert each Wednesday in July. The concerts take place at 6 p.m. on the grounds of Beaumont Tower, and are free and open to the public. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

The hard-working crew of W. J. Beal Botanical garden doesn’t only consist of humans, but insect pollinators as well. A bumblebee picks up some pollen from a purple coneflower in the garden. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

“S” marks the spot. Due to damage to the block “S” in front of the administrative building, Infrastructure, Planning and Facilities prepares the space for its replacement. Photo by Nick Schrader.
The bronze “S”, a gift from the class of 1978, is replaced, keeping the plaza of Hannah Administration building looking good as new. Photo by Nick Schrader.
Peek-a-boo, we see you. A cotton-tailed cutie hides among the flowers near Campbell Hall. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
From the rooftop of the new Graduate hotel, cars look like toys and a summer day on campus is picturesque. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Daylilies provide a splash of color to West Circle Drive and Landon Hall. Landon Hall is named for Linda Landon, librarian and first female instructor to teach at MSU. The Collegiate Gothic-style residence hall was constructed in 1947, making it the first post-World War II hall built on campus. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
