The week in photos: Oct. 25-31, 2020

By: Lisa Mulcrone

While we all wait until it's safe to return to campus, here are some photos from the week to connect you to campus from wherever you are. There's still plenty going on — like the installation of a new organ at the Alumni Chapel, music classes, fall colors and, of course, a couple of shots from our win over Michigan.

Work is being done in the MSU Alumni Chapel to replace the original pipe organ, which is no longer functional due to progressive warping. The College of Music, in collaboration with Residential Housing and Hospitality Services, has worked with Letourneau Pipe Organs to design a world-class organ versatile enough to play wide-ranging literature associated with weddings, funerals, as well as function as a workable recital space for students. The new organ was funded through private gifts. The college will continue to raise funds to support the project, purchase a new Steinway piano and build an endowment to maintain the new organ after installation. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

Victory for MSU! Technically, this isn't the MSU campus, but the Spartans owned the Big House in Ann Arbor on Saturday when the MSU football team beat the University of Michigan 27-24. The win was Coach Tucker's first as a Spartan. Photo by Matthew Mitchell.
