In January of 2020, MSU President Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D. charged a steering committee to undertake a comprehensive and inclusive strategic planning process that would establish a vision for MSU for the coming decade and establish the priorities and directions that would support it.
A cornerstone of the strategic planning process is the gathering of community input at appropriate milestones and hearing many voices from the Spartan community in order to ensure a shared vision for the future.
After initial input and work sessions, a set of institutional values has been drafted and are ready to be shared with campus stakeholders. Specifically, the committee is seeking to understand if these institutional values resonate and how Spartans see them shaping the future of the university.
Between Nov. 2 - Nov. 24, virtual input sessions will take place with audience groups, giving stakeholders the opportunity to review the draft values and offer their perspectives. Each session will be guided by a skilled moderator who will lead groups through the process of reviewing the values, as well as envisioning a future in which values guide thoughts, actions and strategic direction.
"Hearing diverse voices from many internal and external stakeholders is vital to our success," said Vennie Gore, co-chairperson of the planning committee. "We hope that students, staff, faculty and alumni will consider participating in one of these input sessions."
