Student delegates of ASMSU, or the Associated Students of Michigan State University, spent their last weekend of spring break attending the Conference on Student Government Associations, or COSGA, in Houston, Texas hosted by Texas A&M University.
This year the MSU students presented a workshop titled, "What now? Rebuilding Campus after Crisis" which focused on how student leaders can respond to crisis situations and the best ways to address them.
It was ASMSU’s second time attending the conference, and they were awarded with Outstanding Student Government of the Year for 2019-2020 for contributions to the student body and continuous work to enhance the collective Spartan experience.
This is an impressive recognition from an international conference on student government, which can be attributed to the collaborations and continued ASMSU team effort to improve MSU's campus.
“We are grateful to have been awarded this honor for the second time now,” said MSU student body president Mario Kakos. “It serves as a testament to the commitment we have at ASMSU in serving students and the community.”
ASMSU is no stranger to such an honor. In 2017, the group brought home the same award for its dedication to leadership, service and commitment in carrying out the needs and initiatives for all MSU students.
