Spartans take fifth at the Big Ten Championships

The Michigan State women's golf team took fifth place at the 2019 Big Ten Championships. The Spartans were 5-under-par 283 in Sunday's final round at TPC River's Bend and finished 4-over-par 580 (297-283), in the event which was shortened to 36 holes to due to rain and poor course conditions on Saturday.

The 19th-ranked Spartans were six strokes off the lead going into the final round and their push on Sunday pulled them to within two of the trio of teams in second place (Indiana, Illinois, Purdue). Ohio State won the title at 1-under-par 575.
