Michigan State senior defensive end Kenny Willekes has been named the National Defensive Player of the Week, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced on Sunday.
Willekes was also named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday by the conference office.
The 2018 Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year and a first-team preseason All-American by numerous organizations, Willekes started off his senior season strong as the Spartan defense dominated Tulsa in the 28-7 MSU win.
