Spartans earn 11-3 win in Maryland series finale

Michigan State claimed the rubber match in the finale of the Maryland series, downing the Terps 11-3 in five innings on a sunny spring day at Secchia Stadium.

The Spartans, (14-22, 3-6 Big Ten) exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and Maryland reliever Sami Main walked in two runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game due to the run rule. Ebonee Echols had a big day at the plate, launching a pair of home runs — one to left field, one to right — and added four RBI.
