The U.S. Department of Education posted proposed Title IX regulations in the Federal Register on Nov. 29, 2018. MSU has reviewed these proposed rules with MSU’s Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct Expert Advisory Workgroup along with other members of the campus community and strongly disagrees with the constraints the proposed regulations appear to place on institutions’ ability to ensure the safety and well-being of their university communities.
We have submitted comments to the Department of Education outlining our concerns. Our commentary supports the statement from the Association of American Universities.
