Students earn 2018 Board of Trustees' awards

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees recognized 21 graduating students with an award for achieving the highest scholastic average at the close of their last semester. All students receiving this year’s Board of Trustees’ Award earned a 4.0 GPA.

Minseo Baik, of Seoul, Korea, is a computer science major in the College of Engineering and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Oasis International School.

Alexa Baylis, of Clarkston, is a mechanical engineering major in the College of Engineering and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Clarkston Senior High School.

Gino Caruso, of Rochester, is a human biology major in the Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Stoney Creek High School.

Marianne Nezich Common, of Marquette, is a communication major in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Marquette Senior High School.

Rachel Grimmer, of Northville, is an accounting major in the Eli Broad College of Business and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Northville High School.

Raghav Jain, of Conshohocken, PA, is a biochemistry and molecular biology major in the College of Natural Science and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Spring-Ford Senior High School.

Dan Jian, of Macomb, is a human biology major in the Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Henry Ford II High School.

Hannah Jones, of Bel Air, MD, is a political science-prelaw major in the College of Social Science and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Patterson Mill High School.

Noah Keppers, of Findlay, OH, is a computer science major in the College of Engineering and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Findlay High School.

Heming Li, of Beijing, China, is a mathematics major in the College of Natural Science. He is a graduate of Kaifeng Senior High School.

Morgan Linn, of Mason, is an arts and humanities major in the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Okemos High School.

Alexa Magsoudi, of Romeo, is a human biology major in the Lyman Briggs College. She is a graduate of Notre Dame Preparatory and Marist Academy.

Megan Makela, of Brutus, is a human biology major in the Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Petoskey High School.

Lindsay Mensch, of Milford, is an English major in the College of Arts and Letters and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Brighton High School.

Ian Murray, of Midland, is a computer science major in the College of Engineering. He is a graduate of Midland High School.

Christopher Occhiuto, of Lansing, is a physiology major in the College of Natural Science and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Grand Ledge High School.

Katherine Schlafhauser, of Troy, is a communication major in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of Troy High School.

Caleb Sokolowski, of Commerce Twp., is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Walled Lake Central High School.

John Stathakios, of Rochester Hills, is a human biology major in the Lyman Briggs College and a member of the Honors College. He is a graduate of Rochester High School.

Heidi Surdyk, of Whitmore Lake, is a marketing major in the Eli Broad College of Business and a member of the Honors College. She is a graduate of South Lyon East High School.

Philipp Waeltermann, of Novi, is a mechanical engineering major in the College of Engineering. He is a graduate of Gymnasium Theodorianum.
