This fall, at the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary — which is part of Michigan State University’s largest off-campus educational complex, the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station — guests can take expert-led walks through picturesque trails, enjoy the colors of fall and get a chance to see the many birds the sight has to offer.
The sanctuary, which hosts its Birds & Coffee Walks year-round on the second Wednesday of each month. Following the walk, people can enjoy a talk about the morning’s variety of bird findings over a cup of coffee.
Visitors are encouraged to check the E-Bird list to see the species of birds recently sighted at the sanctuary, as fall is an especially good time to see migrating waterfowl who are stopping by Wintergreen Lake on their journey!
The program dates run from 9 to 10:30 a.m., with the next three dates set on Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12. Sanctuary members attend for free and the cost of attendance for non-members is Sanctuary general admission: $5 for adults and $4 for senior citizens (62 or older).
