MSU and downtown East Lansing have a hip new space for the public to both admire and create art. MSU’s Broad Art Lab, just a hop, skip and jump from the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, is hosting a printmaking class from 2 to 5 p.m., June 16.
Inspired by the Berlin-based artist collective Raubdruckerin, this workshop will have participants explore the East Lansing community in search of urban patterns and typographic forms. Sourced directly from the streets, discover pirate printmaking techniques in this hands-on printmaking workshop.
Participants will take away a shirt (and more) imprinted from manhole covers, vents and utility grates. The $40 registration fee covers instruction, printing materials, T-shirts and other surfaces. This workshop is led by painter, printmaker and teaching artist Britta Urness.
