The third week of June is National Pollinator Week, and Michigan State University’s Department of Entomology will be involved in multiple fun and educational events planned to focus on pollinators.
The sixth annual Bee Palooza will be from 1 to 4 p.m. June 24 at the Horticultural Demonstration Gardens. This is a free, fun and educational event to provide an afternoon of interactive activities centered on understanding the wonderful world of pollinators.
The Horticultural Demonstration Gardens will be dotted with displays on honey bees, bumble bees, bee hotels, wild bees of Michigan, plants to support pollinators and how important bees and other pollinators are for our food supply.
Hands-on workshops will help you experience ‘being a bee’, allow you to plant some native seeds and show you how to identify different pollinators in your garden.
