Spartans shine at second day of Spartan Invitational

Michigan State track & field continued a dominating performance at the 2018 Spartan Invitational, competing in events inside Jenison Field House, at the Ralph Young Track and at Munn Field on Saturday in cooler than average temperatures for April 7.

The Spartans grabbed 16 first-place finishes in both the track and field events, proving the team's abilities across all event categories.

"I thought our toughness as a general rule was one of the things I was excited about. We were not in ideal conditions, coming off of a pretty good weekend last weekend where the weather was ideal in a really big meet at North Carolina State, to come out here and get after it, I thought we did a nice job," Michigan State director of track & field, Walt Drenth, said.
