High school student wins holiday card design contest

The Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center has recognized East Lansing High School junior Sophie Rutkowski as the winner of the 2017 annual holiday card design contest. This is Kellogg’s 25th year hosting the contest.

The Kellogg Center’s general manager, Rebecca Selesky, invites the winner to visit the hotel and have their photo taken with the winning card. The winner will be presented with a cash prize and a dozen the printed cards for her portfolio.

Rutkowski previously won the Matt Epling's People's Choice Award in a local art competition. This event was created in memory of Matt Epling for middle school art students to showcase artistic talents. Epling died in 2002.

Rutkowski plans to attend art school after high school.
