The 21st annual Summer Solstice Jazz Festival will be held June 23-24 in downtown East Lansing.
Presented by the Michigan State University College of Music and the City of East Lansing, the festival will feature a variety of jazz performers, including students and faculty from MSU.
Festival partners include the Greater Lansing Festival Alliance, MSU’s Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum and WKAR radio station. The Broad’s sculpture garden, located on campus along Grand River, will be a performance venue and location of the Kozmic Picnic, where festival-goers are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the music at noon on Saturday.
The festival is a free community event, with performances throughout the two days. Performances will be held at Founder’s Stage, located in Parking Lot 1, 230 Albert Ave., Ann Street Plaza, located on the northwest corner of the Albert-M.A.C. intersection, and Fieldhouse sports bar and restaurant, located at 213 Ann St.
The second line parade will be held at 3:10 p.m. Saturday, with performers marching from the Broad sculpture garden to the Ann Street Plaza.
