Twice a year, Tractor Supply Company partners with the National 4-H Council during a nationwide in-store fund-raising campaign. The Paper Clover campaign is designed to promote funding for 4-H positive youth development programs in each community where a TSC or Del’s Farm and Feed Supply store is located.
By purchasing a paper clover, TSC shoppers were able to help 4-H programs improve and expand programs that teach youth the importance of building positive relationships, gaining important life skills and becoming valued participants and leaders in their communities. Proceeds from the Paper Clover campaign are distributed to the local county 4-H program, the state 4-H program and the National 4-H Council. In Michigan, 4-H is a program of Michigan State University Extension and is operated locally by the county MSU Extension offices.
During the spring campaign, held April 2 through May 4, many loyal TSC customers purchased paper clovers for $1 or more at checkout to support their local 4-H programs. In the spring promotion, Michigan’s committed community supporters generated $45,671, putting the state in fourth place in the nationwide campaign. Of the money that was raised in Michigan, $29,685.60 will be distributed to counties, $2,283.54 for state 4-H support and $13,701.23 to the National 4-H Council.
“This fund-raising campaign is a great example of how large national companies, such as TSC, and local community members can partner together to make an important impact in their areas,” said State 4-H Leader and MSU Extension Children and Youth director Julie Chapin.
In addition to recognizing the overall state's accomplishments in the campaign, the National 4-H Council honored several Michigan counties and local stores for their impressive 4-H fundraising.
