The MSU Formula Racing Team represents MSU’s entry into the Formula SAE collegiate design series, a competition sanctioned by SAE International. Formula SAE promotes innovation and education by challenging students to fund, design, manufacture and race small, open-wheel racecars.
Teams are judged over a course of seven different events, covering vehicle marketing, design, manufacturing, cost and several areas of dynamic performance. Since it’s inception in 1981, this series has experienced tremendous participant growth, earning the title of the largest engineering competition in the world and currently hosting nine events in seven countries annually. To date, there are over three hundred teams around the globe.
