MSU Bakers promotes American Heart Month

MSU Bakers will wear its heart on its sleeve again this year with its annual Heart Month, where a portion of all February product sales going to the American Heart Association.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, accounting for one in every four deaths yearly. The most common heart disease in the United States is coronary heart disease, which often appears as a heart attack. About every 25 seconds, an American will experience a coronary event, and about one every minute will prove fatal.

The MSU Bakery is bringing back two specials from last year’s campaign: An eight-inch Brownie Blaster and the DIY Valentine’s Day Cookies for the Bakers’ more creative customers who wish to decorate their own cookies. The Brownie Blaster sells for $15 and the DIY cookies are available for $15 per dozen. This year, the bakery also is offering two new options: Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes at $12.50 per half dozen and a mix of traditional heart-shaped chocolate and sugar Valentines Cookies for $15 per dozen.
