Avian Science Club hosts second annual turkey sale

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State University Avian Science Club will host its second annual Thanksgiving turkey sale during the next month and a half. The turkeys are fresh and grown by MSU students.

Raised entirely by students at the MSU Poultry Farm, the turkeys are completely the students' responsibilities. They are processed at MSU's meat processing lab.

The Avian Science Club plans to use proceeds from the sale to help fund several students' trip to the Atlanta International Poultry Expo.

Club members are raising a limited supply of turkeys for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Turkeys are available for $2 per pound; most range from 11 to 16 pounds. Order a turkey through students in the MSU Avian Science Club or through Risch at rischcha@msu.edu.

Turkey pick up is slated from 2 to 7 p.m. Nov. 22 and 23 at the MSU Meat Lab.
