LANSING, Mich.—Two art exhibitions featuring the work of Michigan State students will be unveiled Aug. 4 at Basement 414 in Lansing.
The Unfathomable Reins is a solo exhibition by Janel Schultz funded by a 2010 Individual Artist Grant from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing. It features an installation of hybrid sculpture made from discarded materials with motion activated sound.
Animalesque is a group exhibition featuring many Michigan State University students. The art is visually or conceptually linked to animals.
An opening reception will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 6. Local music by Seagrass Diov will be performed.
Exhibit hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight. Basement 414 is at 414 E. Michigan Ave. The entrance is in the alley behind Nuthouse Sports Grill.
