Former football player prepares to clear next boxing hurdle

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Former Michigan State linebacker Seth Mitchell, who has compiled a 17-0-1 record including 11 knockouts in 18 heavyweight fights, will face Derek Bryant in an eight-round bout scheduled for  July 31 at The Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Mitchell has won 15-straight bouts.

In his last match on May 7, the 28-year-old recorded a second-round TKO over Johnnie White in Albuquerque, N.M. His boxing style earned him the nickname "Mayhem" from former Michigan State teammate Jason Teague.
